In Guanacaste province, it is located Tamarindo Bay, which is shared by two beaches: Grande beach and Tamarindo Beach. They are divided by a tideland located almost halfway the bay.

This beach, with champagne color sand, is very long and wide. Southern Tamarindo beach limits with Langosta Beach. Both beaches are separated by San Francisco Point.



In front of Tamarindo, is Capitán Island, a small island that possesses a small white sand beach. You can arrive there in boat, in few minutes; or, if you are a very good swimmer and your physical condition allows you, you can go to the island, swimming.

Tamarindo Beach, has a lot of facilities for the visitor: hotels, cabins, restaurants, supermarkets, a bank, stores, etc.; that makes this small town, a welcoming place for the tourist.



Near the outlet of the tideland, it is a good point for surfing. In fact, so much Tamarindo as Grande Beach are favorite places for surfers.



Traveling trough the tideland in a guided boat tour, as well as diving and snorkeling, are activities that attract the visitor, because of the natural wealth of this area. It is also possible to coordinate with tourist companies of the place a night tour to Grande Beach, where arrive mainly from August to February, baulas turtles.
