Few kilometers south from Cahuita, is located one of the places that most national and foreign tourists attracts: Puerto Viejo. This place of beautiful clear and dark sands beaches offers one of the places with the most night live in the region, besides the excellent and varied services it has.

It is one of the favorite places for those who surf, being in Point Pirripli where it is formed a strong and dangerous wave that breaks over a coral reef with an amazing drop well-known as "Salsa Brava" (Brave Sauce), that is considered the strongest wave in Costa Rica. This wave has broken many surf boards, for that reason it is strongly recommended to have extreme caution when surfing in Puerto Viejo.

In Puerto Viejo's coral reef the visitor also can dive and appreciate the beauties that this nook of Costa Rica offers.
