Just 18 km from San José, there is a public park (Administered for Municipality of San Rafael de Heredia) where one can forget the problems and take a rest in this mountain forest, located in Heredia province.

This park possesses short paths, a small lagoon where some nice ducks swim, recreation areas for their visitors ("Ranchos" where you can cook meat in grill, as well as playing fields for soccer and basketball and a games field for children) and a mirador, from which you can see San José's capital city.
